More Control Over Your Nutrition Facts Labels with Insignificant Nutrient Settings

Posted on July 16, 2026 by

Creating an Nutrition Facts panel requires balancing compliance with style choices. That's why we've added a new Insignificant Nutrients feature to ReciPal.

You can now customize which FDA-allowable insignificant nutrients appear on your Nutrition Facts panel, while ReciPal automatically ensures your label remains compliant.

More Control Over Your Nutrition Facts Label

ReciPal already supports the FDA's Simplified Format, which hides eligible nutrients with insignificant values to create a cleaner, more compact Nutrition Facts label.

But sometimes you may want to display one of those nutrients anyway.

For example, even if Added Sugars is 0g, you may want consumers to see it on your label. With this update, you can easily reveal individual nutrients that would normally be hidden by the simplified format.

You also gain flexibility in the opposite direction. Even if your product doesn't qualify for the Simplified Format, you can still save space by hiding individual nutrients with insignificant values whenever FDA regulations allow.

Built-In FDA Compliance

The new Insignificant Nutrients section is available from the Optional Nutrients menu on the Label page.

Insignificant

The list is dynamic, meaning ReciPal only displays nutrients that qualify as insignificant based on your recipe. If a nutrient doesn't meet the FDA's requirements, it won't be available to hide.

Depending on your label, you can:

  • Show an insignificant nutrient that the Simplified Format would normally hide.
  • Hide individual insignificant nutrients on a standard Nutrition Facts label.
  • Automatically add the required FDA footnote when omitted nutrients must be disclosed.

Every option is validated automatically, so you can customize your label without worrying about compliance.

Customize Your Label with Confidence

The Insignificant Nutrients feature gives you more flexibility without increasing complexity.

Whether you're simplifying your Nutrition Facts panel or highlighting specific nutrients, ReciPal's nutrition label maker provides the customization you want while automatically enforcing FDA labeling requirements.

That's the ReciPal approach: giving you more control over your nutrition labels while making compliance effortless.
