Ingredient Bolding Adds Clarity to Nutrition Labels
We’ve added a simple, flexible way to bold parts of your ingredient statement while keeping your label compliant.
Why use bolding?
Based on your style and product you may have different formatting needs. Now you can:
- Bold just the “Ingredients” heading
- Highlight main ingredients while keeping sub-ingredients unbolded
- Bold everything for a stronger visual style
For example, highlighting main ingredients is an easy way to make long ingredient lists more readable and less overwhelming.
How it works
On the bottom of the Ingredient Statement page, choose your preferred bolding options:
If you need more control you can use tags in:
- The manual edit section
- The “Show on Label” column
Because ReciPal is dynamic, any formatting updates you make to a specific ingredient will automatically apply across all recipes that use it.
Built with compliance in mind
- U.S. labels allow flexible formatting (including bolding for emphasis, like allergens)
- Canadian labels do not allow bolding within the ingredient statement
So bolding options for Canadian labels will be grayed out because they're not applicable.
Final Thoughts
We want to give you more control over how your labels look without adding extra work or risk. If there are other features that would save time and help you better customize your label just let us know!
