Saving Default Label Settings

Posted by

One thing we've heard from many of you is that you'd like to be able to apply default formatting settings for your labels across recipes. So now you can in our nutrition label maker!

We've been saving your label format settings for each recipe/label for a while, but now you can use those settings as a default starting point and copy them over to other recipes.

Setting the Default

Setting the default format is super simple. It's just another option on the left hand side of the label page of any recipe. Just check the box to use that recipe as the default label format. Once you have a default format, that format will be the starting point for new recipes.

Default label settings option on ReciPal

Click to set as default. Click the button to set all your other recipes to this format as well.

All the things you can do :)

  • Set (or unset) a recipe as the default label format (any changes to that format will be the new default)
  • Set all your recipes to the current default label format.
  • Revert to the current default label format in any recipe that's not the default.
  • See which recipe is the current default format from your Account Settings page.

The default format includes any label format settings (including the Label Type, Label Sections, Label Style, Optional Nutrients, and Optional Vitamins) as well as the facility allergens.

If you use the default format, you can of course still change that label's format. It functions a starting point and a default format you can always go back to.

Closing Thoughts

This should save lots of folks a lot of time if they're setting up the same label formats for a variety of recipes, and it's already paying dividends for our nutrition label maker users, but let us know if we can add anything else to it!
