ReciPal 2023 Year in Review

Posted on December 14, 2023 by

As 2023 comes to a close, we wanted to take some time to reflect on our year as a business. TL:DR - It’s been an awesome year!

New Look

After over a decade with the same user interface, we leveraged technological developments alongside tons of user feedback to create a cleaner, more intuitive, and more responsive experience.

Our tutorials and support videos also got an overhaul to make sure our users have great resources throughout the process.

New Functionality

We added a number of new features to provide users with more flexibility, transparency, and safety.

New Partners

With tons of questions around the best way to print labels, we went on a search for the perfect printing partner. We started with a survey of our users to better understand their needs, pain points, and insights. We compiled those learnings into a food label printing report.

After an extensive search, we couldn’t be more happy to partner with the leader in labels, Avery. They are providing ReciPal users exclusive service and discounts. The great thing is that they can meet the wide range of needs of our users - from a few blank label sheets to millions of professionally printed labels on rolls.

New Programs

We know that our growth is due to our loyal users who continually recommend our product and act as brand ambassadors. We wanted to better reward these folks by creating an affiliate program where you receive a 20% commission on all payments within the first 6 months for paying customers you refer.

Same Values

Despite our growth, the ReciPal values remain the same. We are committed to providing great software, fair pricing, and unparalleled customer service. When you call, you speak to a human. When you email us, you get a prompt and personable response.

We are experts in our field and we are invested in helping each and every one of you take your food business to the next level. We also love to connect with brands and spotlight them in our community through our newsletter and social media. We were even able to share a home cooked meal by one of our longtime users at our annual team retreat. We’d love to hear your success stories from this year.

We’ve had a lot of new customers come our way this year and we even created a data import option to help those looking to escape the price gouging of legacy brands. We’re proud to remain a self-funded, socially conscious company that continues to improve year after year.

Looking Forward

We’re excited for 2024 and beyond! Our plans are to continue expanding label formats and functionality. We’ll be covering new jurisdictions and use cases to meet the expanding needs of the businesses who use our products. As with all of our development, we’ll continue to build software that is intuitive, thoughtful, and informed by the voices of our users.

About Jack Scotti

Jack Scotti ReciPal

Jack Scotti is the director of marketing at ReciPal. Prior to joining the team he was a founder of Story2, an edtech company that teaches people how to advocate for themselves through the neuroscience of storytelling. One of the first activities in any Story2 workshop was to share a memorable meal story. So even before working in the food industry, he got to experience the amazing way food connects us all. (Ask him about his family’s feast of the 7 fishes or only eating ravioli in multiples of four.) Now, he couldn’t be more excited to help food business create more dinner table memories.
