Linear Canadian Nutrition Label Format

Just a few months ago we added the Canadian nutrition label format to ReciPal. It was by far the most common format, so that's what we added first.

Linear Format Now Available

We just added the linear Canadian nutrition label format to our labeling tool as well, which is very useful for smaller products that are limited in space.

If you don't have an account, you can still check it out yourself with our sample nutrition label. To see the linear Canadian format, choose the "Linear" label type instead of "Vertical (default)", click on the Label Options button on the left hand side and click the check box for 'Canadian English format' or 'Canadian French format'. You'll see the label transform from the FDA linear label style to the analogous Canadian style.

Key Differences

For the Canadian linear label, unlike the vertical style, there is no option to have a bilingual label, as that's not allowed under the Canadian labeling rules. That's why there are distinct English and French versions. Otherwise, there are the standard differences, which include some different daily values for certain nutrients, spacing, language, and general format.
