Food Label Ingredient Lists

Posted on May 19, 2013 by

As we continue to expand our suite of products for food businesses, we're excited to release the food label ingredient list feature on top of our existing features of recipe tracking, nutrition fact labels and recipe costing.

The ingredient list is one of several food packaging requirements, so don't forget it to include it!

How it Works

This feature is incredibly simple to use, particularly once you've finalized your recipe and all the ingredients in it. We'll automatically create the ingredient list from all your ingredients by putting them in descending weight order, which is how the FDA expects them to be listed.

For most recipes, this is all you need, but you can also edit the ingredient list to change ingredient names to their more common names (our ingredient names are usually much more detailed than you need to include in an ingredient list), remove ingredients that are optional in an ingredient list (such as spices), or make any other changes you feel are appropriate.

Just as you can style your nutrition fact label at ReciPal, you can also style your ingredient list by resizing the width, changing the background color, and changing the font size as well as font color.

Coming up Next

If you think of any other options or features for the ingredient lists, don't hesitate to let us know. In the meantime, we'll be working on lots of other features that you've requested, so keep your eyes peeled!
